Autumn Moon

Luna - Autumn Moon Luna Autumn Moon
 Autumn Moon - Luna

"Autumn Moon", aka "Luna". 2005 Sabino Overo Paint Mare. 15 hands. $2,000.

Luna is one of the good ones! This mare is the whole package and not one to miss. Luna has a wonderful disposition, very people oriented, excellent ground manners. She bathes, clips, loads does everything a horse should do on the ground. She is not spooky, looks and gets curious about the "scary" thing, but not bombproof yet.

Luna walked away with a second place in her first halter class at her first class at her first show one month after I got her. She was started correctly using classical dressage techniques and lunges perfectly to body language and voice. Undersaddle she is willing, has a very soft mouth, naturally works over her top line from behind into a beautiful round frame. Has three good gaits plus backing and works amazing off seat and legs for directions, stopping and lateral work. Lateral proficiency in haunch turns, forehand turns, leg yields at walk and trot -- on straight lines and circles. On the same day she started and learned shoulder in, haunches out and haunches in -- logical riding comes easy to her.

She has not been undersaddle very long (not her fault), and has learned all of the above. We are currently working on slowing everything down to western pleasure speed and she is developing a phenomenal jog trot. Good on trails in groups, needs more miles by herself for proficiency. UTD on everything. Too many good qualities to list. Always sound. Price to increase with training but currently somewhat negotiable. Video Here.

Bjarmi

 1996 - 13 hand - 700# - Chestnut Icelandic Gelding

BJ is a sweet and fun horse – great for kids (as he prefers them) or adults. He is appropriate for an advanced beginner in the arena or an intermediate rider on trails. He is great both in the arena and on trails. Leads, follows, goes out alone or with a group – can keep up with any horse but can also slow down to match the pace. He will go wherever you ask and do what you want as long as the rider knows how to ask. No bucking, kicking, rearing or biting. He has smooth gaits and tolts when asked. Free jumped in the arena, has good form and seemed to love it. Loads, bathes and good for farrier. UTD on everything. Approved home only. $1,500.

Clark

1998 14.3 hands 1,000# Tobiano Buckskin Paint Gelding

Clark is a beautiful, athletic and personable buckskin paint gelding. He has been in professional training for the past three months with a dressage focus and is now training for western pleasure. His current owner has previously used him as a trail horse. Clark is trained to w/t/c, leg yields and learning forehand turn, haunch turn and side pass. He wants to work and needs an experienced rider who will give him work to do. He has potential for ranch work or as a western pleasure show horse. Owner has had him since he was four months old and the only reason she is selling him is because he is too much horse for her. He has some training issues that are easily dealt with by his trainer but not by his owner. Clark is UTD on his farrier, teeth, and chiropractor (first time adjusted this June). This is the perfect horse for the right person.  This is a boarder sale - your inquiries will be forwarded on to the appropriate person. SOLD!

Northern Lights Aurora

2006 - 15.2 hands - 1150# - Chestnut Draft Cross Mare

Aurora is a beautiful and athletic mare perfect for a serious dressage rider. She has three balanced gaits with good suspension and movement to move up the levels in dressage. When she was in training less than two months ago, she was ready to compete at Training level and with some consistent canter work she would be ready for First level. She also knows forehand and haunch turn, shoulder in, backs, leg yields, lengthens and is good on the trails. Aurora will move entirely off seat and legs if asked and has a soft mouth. Aurora is most happy in consistent work and will work hard to please her rider. We recommend an intermediate rider as she is still young and can become worried if she has to take care of her rider. The only reason this mare is being offered for sale is due to the owner moving across the country VERY soon and needs to find the right home for Aurora now. Don’t miss this chance to get a nice dressage horse to move up the levels with! Video and additional pictures available.  This is a boarder's sale.  All inquiries will be forwarded on to the appropriate person. SOLD! Congratulations to Liz in California!

Johnny Cash

2008 Friesian Cross Black Gelding.

Cash is a wonderful cross. He is friendly, inquisitive, sweet and a joy to be around. He has been imprinted at birth, handled daily to help ensure an easy transition for his new owner.  UTD on shots, worming, good for ferrier, ties, leads, bathes, good with other horses, no biting or kicking.  He currently is stalled in the evening and morning with turned out all night and during the afternoon to aid in optimal development but learn stall manners as well (which he’s great when stalled).  He has no markings on him is a true black. Sticked in July at 15.2 at withers and 15.3 at hip . This boy should be successful in which ever career his owner wants to pursue. His dam was a champion in driving then was trained and used for dressage lessons and lower level jumping. She is also a fun horse to ride on trails and a baroque saddlebred type mare. His purebred Friesian sire is from the European lines of Onne and his oldest foals are just being started under saddle. Cash has begun ground work and learning to lunge. approved home.  Pedigree and video link below. SOLD!!! CONGRATULATIONS TO HEIDI AND JJ.  CASH WILL BE STAYING AT SRS AND BEGINNING HIS DRESSAGE CAREER WITH HEIDI!

SRS Golden Knight

“Niko” is a stunning, kind, and sensible two year old. He has a curious, sensible nature and adjusts to new situations with ease. His great disposition just adds to his stunning beauty and unique coloring. This boy will get you noticed both in the show and on the trails with the mind and ability to be an all-round horse. Niko is UTD on shots, worming, farrier. He is good on the ground – grooming, tying (learning to cross tie), great with his feet (always had his feet done on time). He bathes, clips (still working on his face), loads, ground work with light lunging at w/t, and ponies out on trails very easily. Pictures don’t do this boy justice – he will take your breath away! Not only is he a golden buckskin, but he has white highlights in his mane and tail, and an attention getting white snip on his nose. Currently 14.3 at withers and 15h at hip. He will be a broad and thick boy. Dam was a beginner lesson horse and great on trails. Her previous foals were tall and easy for their owners to train. His sire is known for throwing amazing dispositions with foals winning in halter, Western Pleasure, Eventing and Dressage (see website for more pics). Approved home only. Pedigree.   SOLD.

Lady Guinevere

Friesian or Draft cross, 7 years old, 15.3 hand Bay Mare.  Approx 1200 pounds.

Gwen is a sweet, kind, people oriented mare that is looking for a person of her own.  She has excellent ground manners that carry into her easy going way under saddle. Gwen has nice movement for any English discipline.  She has been under saddle intermittently last year and never appeared to forget a thing she’s learned so far.  No bad behavior under saddle - she just wants to please.  I have yet to see her spook at anything, and takes everything in stride.  She has been taken out on trails a few times and really enjoys it. She is currently being ridden four times a week and has been in consistent training since October. This mare would be fine for a beginner with a competent trainer (as she is still learning and needs a leader) or a more advanced rider to easily finish. Gwen clips, lunges, loads, bathes, ties, cross ties, good for farrier with excellent feet and is a VERY easy keeper. Her pedigree is unknown and her price reflects this.  Good home only! In barn lease considered with lessons from our Instructor. SOLD!  Congratulations to Jodie of Medford!

Danny

Haflinger cross (Gaited), 19 years old, 14.1 hand Palomino Gelding.  Approx 800 pounds.

Danny is a very SMOOTH, easy going gaited Haflinger cross.  He is great on the trails and arena alike even with first time riders and kids.  He has a lot of buttons for more advanced riders to enjoy and his gaits will never leave you sore at the end of a long ride.  Danny goes well and softly in a simple snaffle or mechanical hackamore.  He is well suited for a beginner on up and sturdy enough for both kids and adult riders up to 150# - rider in pictures is 5’5”.  Good ground manners – clips, bathes, ties and cross ties.   His feet are strong and he doesn’t require shoes (good for farrier). He is good with other horses in pasture and doesn’t cause problems. We have noticed he is a bit stiff when first ridden for about 5 minutes so we recommend that his future home place him on MSM and Glucosmine.   Good home only! $1500 firm.  SOLD! Congratulations Terry! I hope your wife loves him as much as we do!

Sweetie

Breeding Stock Paint, 14 year old, 14.3 hand bay Mare.  Been there, done that; this mare is good at a lot of things. She's been through OHSET and gone to state in team penning, dressage, western, working pairs, and drill team, showmanship, with two different kids, at USDF Jr/YR shows she's done 1st level dressage and placed with scores over 60 at first level. Superb all around horse for intermediate non-timid rider. Solid built, not too dainty for an adult. We will accept almost any offers as this horse is just sitting due to kids off at college. This is a boarder's horse and we are assisting with the sale. SOLD!!!  Congratulations to Sara, Duane and Lori of The Dalles, OR.  Have fun chasing the cows- Sweetie will think she's died and gone to heaven!!

Gordel's Star Beam

Ace

Ace is an extremely versatile gelding with a personality that you just can’t help but fall in love with. He is the exemplary example of a life-long companion. Ace is perfect for the casual hobby rider, but is unique in the sense that he’s athletic, versatile, and completely capable of being a competitive all-around companion. Would be excellent for 4H and/or pony club. Ace has the classic rocking-horse, Morgan gaits that you can ride all day long. He has phenomenal tempo and rhythm and maintains cadence on his own at every gait. Ace is very ‘morganesque’ with his towering neck, unbelievable mane/tail, glowing copper color, and to-die-for gaits. He is very solid walk/trot/ and canter. Moves off weight and leg while neck-reining, making him desirable for western disciplines. Along with this, he moves into contact and works efficiently under direct aids. Haunch turns & forehand turns. Side-passes, leg-yields, Backs quick and straight, and has an agile and square stop from any gait. Goes easily in open ring or leverage snaffle. Ace has the Morgan versatility, mind, body and athleticism! Currently being ridden three times a week with classical dressage methods and on trails to increase exposure. Used in horse camps, he will SHINE in any discipline. He's smart, willing, and appropriate for an intermediate rider in the arena and an experienced rider on trails as he builds his own confidence. UTD. Routine teeth care done one year ago. Has just begun trail riding this fall and is improving with each outing. Enters the lake and loves to play and swim. Goes out alone willingly. He has been around ATVs, dogs, cattle, chutes, goats, cars, etc. Clips face, ears, and legs with ease. No vices. Good on the ground. FANTASTIC feet, never needed to be shod. Many more pictures and a riding video are available upon request!!

SOLD!!! Congratulations to Mary Ellen of Maryland!!!

Serendipity

Seri Head

Dutch Warmblood - 15 years 16.3 hand Dark Bay Mare.Seri is an adult amateur or young rider’s dream.  She has been trained at least through 2nd level dressage (the actual amount of training is unknown due to rider’s inexperience).  Seri is ridden 3-4 times a week, conditioned correctly using classical dressage methods under the instruction of Carolyn Eddy.  This mare is like a Cadillac with an amazing work ethic, light in the bridle, and very responsive to leg and seat.  To know this horse is to love her! She is just THAT great.  This mare will only be sold to a great home. SOLD!!! Congratulations to Lisbeth and Bill - Seri will be staying with us at SRS.  We couldn't ask for a better match than Lisbeth and Seri.

Within Your Grasp

(aka Monaco)

"Monaco" is not your typical stallion. He is calm and kind, a real gentleman. He is built as a quality thoroughbred should be and has the genes to promise soundness. His sire raced over 50 times until he was retired at 8 years old. This with his calm manner should produce quality sport horse foals for amateur and professional alike. Closely Related to Olympian Eventer Poggio. Monaco raced 6 times and retired sound. More pictures and video available. Good fertility - covered his first mare (20 yr old) and settled in first cycle in March. Will consider offers to good home. Sold to Alyssa Walker - big thanks to Anne Stevens who helped out tremendously on the match!!!

 Alicia

Arabian, 7 years old, 14 hand Bay Mare.  Kind, sweet, people oriented mare.  Ground training started but due to time constraints, not finished.  Easy keeper and good with other horses.  She is a pretty mare with potential. SOLD!! Congratulations to Kelly and Jesse of Salem and thank you for giving her such a wonderful home!

 Cisco

Appaloosa, 15+ yr old 15 hand Black with snowflakes Gelding.  Cisco is one of our “Forgotten Horses”.  You can see his history on the “Forgotten Horses” page.  Since getting some weight on, Cisco has shown us he is an awesome babysitter.  He’ll do anything you want as long as you want to walk. He can lead or follow on trails and is good in the arena.  Cisco will only be sold to a forever home.  SOLD!!!! Congratulations and a warm welcome to Karen who purchased Cisco and will be joining us here at SRS!!!

Cookie

Quarter Horse, 17 years old, 14.2 hand Palomino Mare.  Cookie is another great kid’s horse.  She came to us when her owners decided they couldn’t take care of her any longer.  She was used for a long time as a broodmare and has a swayed back.  The research we did showed this should not interfere with her being ridden.  With a saddle on you can’t even tell she is sway backed.  She would be fine for adults and kids.  Cookie is good in the arena and on trails – just another safe horse for the family.  Great for 4-H! She is selling as a riding horse not for breeding - she's had enough foals. SOLD!!!Congratualtions Terry.

Ringo

Ringo Head
Ringo

Quarter Horse x Arabian - 1991 14 hand Chestnut Gelding.  Ringo is the perfect for an older child or smaller adult rider. He is a lot of fun, has get up and go but is safe and controllable.  He takes up the leg of people 5’5’’ easily – so he’s not narrow.  He was a kid’s show horse in his earlier years and would have no problem getting back to that point with some conditioning.  Ringo goes well western, AWESOME on trails, and good in the arena.  He doesn’t need shoes, is sound, clips, loads, ties – does everything a horse should.  He has many years left to give someone – this is a YOUNG 18 year old. .SOLD!! Congrats Laurey!

Mariah's Wind

Mariah's Wind

Arabian (Hia Sud Abnus x Marah Sharaf) - 1998 14.3 hand, Chestnut Mare. Mariah is an 11 year old purebred Arabian of Egyptian breeding. She has been in professional training for 4 months; she has also been in training under Carolyn Eddy for 6 months. She has been ridden dressage, English, Western and on trail. She is a perfect second horse on the trail. she never tries to over run the horse in front of her and will also follow perfectly behind the lead horse wherever he goes which includes into deep water and up and down banks. Even at a canter on trails she is never rushing the horse in front of her. She has not had much experience leading on trails as most of the horses she goes with have to lead or they get upset. If the horse in front of her didn't take a wrong step, neither would she, but if he did she would still listen to her rider and be appropriate. She is a really fun horse on trails. Clips, bathes, loads - good ground manners. Great for intermediate rider, but not beginner. She is a very kind mare but looks to her rider for confidence. This horse is ready to take you any direction you wish to go. She loves attention. According to Carolyn Eddy with the right training she would make a great show horse. This is such a fun, sweet horse and needs one great home! Price Reduced! SOLD!

 Harley

Half Kiger Mustang - 2002 - 14.3 hand Grulla Mare.  Harley is a beautiful Iberian type Kiger Mustang cross with a thick mane and tail.  She has great bone, rock hard feet and the build to go anywhere. She has been ridden some but not consistently enough to consider her “ready to go”.  We recommend a refresher course for her on ground work and under saddle so she is back up to speed.  When she was ridden, Harley loved the water on the trails and was good going out solo.   She has great ground manners – bathes/loads/good with feet (haven’t tried clipping – she’s got great hair).  Harley is an easy keeper – low maintenance gal that has never had to see a vet unexpectedly.  She is good with other horses and is currently turned out during the day and stalled at night.  She is up to date on teeth, shots, and will have her feet trimmed soon.  This mare just needs a job with consistent training to become a great partner for someone.  Owner is only selling due to need to downsize.  Finding Harley the right home is very important.  She can be registered with the Buckskin Registry and possibly with the Kiger Registry.  . SOLD! Congratulations to Lisa of California!!

Sarabi

Sarabi

Arabian x Swedish Warmblood - 1992 14.3 hand, Grey Mare. Sarabi is a very nice dressage school master. She has been shown successfully through 1st level and trained 2nd under dressage instructor Carolyn Eddy. For the past two years she has been used as a school horse for a variety of different students from advanced beginner on up. In addition she is a fun and safe trail mount. She also clips, loads, bathes, etc. Don’t miss out on this mare for this price! She’s worth every penny and then some. More pictures available. SOLD Congratulations Liz! Sarabi is going to be boarded here at SRS!
