Sunshine Frosted Gold

Sunny in the trees

Sunshine Frosted Gold is a rare Perlino Tobiano Saddlebred Stallion.  Rarer still is his amazing disposition that would lead anyone to question whether he is actually a stallion.  Sadly, “Sunny” did not get the chance to reach his full potential and was a victim of how cruel this world can be.  He suffered starvation and neglect as a young growing colt – resulting in a stunted stature and then after being rescued once, went to a new home where he was abused and his ears are now only half the height they should be.  We tell you this not to feel sorry for Sunny but to see how wonderful his temperament is.  Through all of this he still tries to trust humans and has developed an amazing relationship with his current owner.

Recently started under saddle, Sunny has proven to be a quick learner, and reliable mount.  He can be ridden safely with other horses both on trails and in the arena (with mares and geldings alike) and pays attention to the task at hand – riding.

With other horses he can only be described as a gentleman.  We have never seen him be aggressive to another horse.  He is very calm and loving to his girls and we have never been concerned about him hurting a mare.

Aside from his great temperament he produces quality, trainable, easy foals.  One owner of his foals recently stated, “His baby is so easy, I feel like I’m cheating!”  For many years Sunny has two sons standing at stud; the American Warmblood “Maxamillion”, and Saddlebred “Diamond’s Blue Eyed Buck”.

Though we do not have a lot of pictures of his get as of yet, but we are getting more.  We would love to get more pictures of his foals and their accomplishments.

Sunny is Standing for 2010 at $750 with a live foal guarantee. AI possible (contact for more information - extra fee).

He will produce color!  There is a 50% chance of spots when bred to a solid mare and he carries one black and one "red" gene.  If bred to a chestnut there is a equal chance he will produce a buckskin or palomino.  If bred to a bay there is a 75% chance of a buckskin and 25% chance of a palomino.  There are many color possibilities depending on the specific mare, please see links below for more information about color genetics in general.  If you have questions about what your mare could produce please contact us and we will help you determine the possibilites for your foal.
